I was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, but when I was 2 my family moved to the Washington D.C. area. Since that time I have lived in Maryland, New Mexico, and Virginia. Now, my parents live nearby and I have a brother, sister-in-law, and niece living in Austin, TX.
I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and from Troy University in 2005 with a master’s degree in Education (concentration in Instructional Technology). In November, 2004, I achieved National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
I have been teaching for 18 years and have been here at Middletown for the past 13 years. Prior to being at Middletown I taught at Boyce Elementary in Clarke County, Virginia. I have taught kindergarten and first grade and enjoy both.
My favorite things to do away from school are read, make baskets, and watch Sherando football! I'm thankful to live in Middletown and have a great family in my 3 daughters and our 5 pets.
